wants the blue catfish!

    I want to learn to catch the blues...never catch them very often..but i know they are out there..plz give me some advise on how to set the pole up as far as hook linr sinker...prefered bait..and the water depth if fishing in a body of water that is aprox 30- 40 deep in spots

    Preferred bait: cut skipjack or shad

    Preferred rig: carolina or 3-way rig

    Preferred method: Drift deep holes

    Hope this helps some. I imagine most everyone is going to give you similar advice. If you don't drift already, it takes awhile to get the hang of it, so DON"T give up!

    Forgot to mention... I tend to use bluegill (whole, live or cut) or cut shad as my bait of choice. Good blue cat fishery is Baldwin Lake. But today.. I got my butt kicked. Didn't catch crap today!

    if you can get a chance, try out the mississippi. thats where the big blues are.
