Going Walleye fishing at Lake Erie Sunday. Will be using worm harnesses and Earie Dearie type lures tipped with nightcrawlers. Anyone have any luck using circle hooks for walleye? What size and brand should I use? I know there are no size standards between brands of circle hooks is why I also asked what brand along with size. Hope they work good and I will take a couple lures apart and replace the regular hooks with circles. John

Where on Erie?

I personally would not recommend circles for walleye cause walleye like to bite in the slack of reeling in, not in the pull. Much like the suck in a jig as it falls not as it runs.

Good luck!
Thanks Sal jr. Getting on a headboat in Port Cinton (Shor-Nuf Charters). I had a feeling the circles wouldn't do too well. Looks like I better stick with the old J hooks. Abu
Abu... How'd the walleye fishing go??? Report???!!!

Sal
Don't wast your time with the circles for walleye. I have tried them. could not get one hooked.
