Has anyone ever done this? I was walking around a corn field and a few Dove flew out. I was wondering if this was a worthwhile way to hunt them?

it's legal in tx jeffro, as long as you aren't throwing corn on the ground to bait them in. you can hunt any migratory bird in this state over any planted or recently harvested crop, as long as that activity was done as part of a normal agricultural procedure.
walking grain fields of any kind, especially this time of year, is a great way to hunt any gamebird. it also gives you something to do in the middle of the day when the birds aren't flying. good luck to you!
