I have a couple of these reels and they are capable of landing good fish. I think they only cost about $20 at wal-mart. I spool them with 20# mono and last November I landed a 47.9 lb Bluecat on this reel. They are re-liable with proper maintenance. Keep them oiled and they should do fine.

Not a bad reel for the price, mine has landed several flatheads over 15 lbs over the past 5 years. Im confident they will handle bigger fish also.

They are made out some kind of cast metal and I stripped the handle in one. I had to switch sides with it and give it to some who cranks a spinning reel with the right hand. I had cranked the heck out of it though. I had one yanked off the dock and I have one left. Over all they are not bad. Tell me who else makes a better reel for the money?
