Kitties are starting bite... caught a 40lb flathead from the bank last night. Couple of small channels the night before.
Cool gonna have to try and go out this weekend.
cats are biting good at the covington area ramp. been bringing in 10-12 cats last 2days. cheesebait and shimp are the choice over crawlers and cut
we went last saturday night....
we used...... cut bait(fillets) whole gills.... hotdogs... stinkbait and worms....
i got a 1.5lb channel off of a gill fillet and a friend got a decent bullhead....
but mannn them big cats were rolling every minute it was insane.... they were NICE cats too.... they just wouldnt bite tho.... o well
going out tonight. will post on tuesday
Went out Friday night, in Wabash co. Water level was 2'-4' ;and bottomed out jon boat twice. Fished a 1/4 mile strip of river that night and caught one 14" Channel Cat , a 17" Drum, and a 23" Gar. Maybe waters to low for the big fish to move very far ?
Hopefully with the little bit of rain we've gotten this weekend, the river will start getting back up to normal levels again.
We're gonna try fishin the Wabash tonight around the Delphi area.
If I can get out, I am going to try around Lafayette. Good Luck to everyone.
I am going to the wabash around terra haute . Good fishing to all
Tried tonight cut bait had a few bites my boy had a nice one on and snaped his line. Try again tomarrow:big_smile:
My son outfished me again!!!!!!!! Caught on cut blue gill. Guessing around 9 or 10 pounds. Almost as long as my 55 gal drum live well. Will post weight and length when I get new batteries for my fish scales. Made his day and mine. Here are a few pics
Tied some jugs up with bluegills but had no takers. Main reason being that we had to get them in within an hour after puttin them out because of the rain
Almost forgot. Talked to an old man who has been ruinning trotlines and they caught some nice flatheads and channels on crawdads. Nothing over 12 pounds but good eating
Scale up and going weighed fish last night and weighs 11 lbs and was 29 inches long.
