My fly fishing partner and I are going to be fishing the San Juan the 2nd through the 5th, we'll be fishing the quality water section below Navajo Dam. I was thinking about bringing along some cat gear too,if there is any worth while cat fishing nearby. I would appreciate some local info if anyone would care to share.

    Thanks,
    Joel

There is Morgan Lake that's not too far from the San Juan & Navajo that is just stacked with cats. It's the power plant cooling lake and is always 70-75*. Navajo lake itself has some cats, but not many. However, if you do get some in the lake, they'll probably be fairly large. Also, there is Lake Farmington in the Farmington and it has stocked cats, mainly in the 1-2lb range..Hope this helps!
