Karl Emerson started his day off right by casting his net close to an lighted dock and got a dozen or so nice gizzard shad, some 8" shinners, plus some thread fins and other type bait fish. He fished from first light until 4 PM and ended up with a nice flathead, several blues and one channel cat, plus two 24+ inch stripers, which were like slim jims. Karl said the water temp. was 68 degrees when he started and 69+ when he finished. See attached photo's of Karl's catch. Mac

PeZ, Bro., Karl let the two largest blues and the flathead go at my dock and kept the small catfish for food and the two stripers for catfish bait :wink:this winter.

Yesterday, when I photographed Karl's catch I told him that he needed to fish a certain creek and to be sure and use those 8" shinners that he had caught earlier in the AM. Well, today he did as I instructed and he was rewarded big time. He was fishing in 7.5 to 20' of muddy water and caught himself a nice 26.2 pound blue, a 11 to 12 flathead and a rather nice channel cat for LKN. He started at 6 AM in heavy fog and quit at high noon. I can not upload photo's at this time. Will do so later. Mac

Good ole Karl made the newspaper (Nov. 1, 2007) with his 26.2 pound blue. We are going to have to get that boy a bigger hat. Mac
