Well, the verdigris is finally starting to kick in and the fish are biting. Went out last night to a secret family spot  and it was wham fish on, wham, drum, wham fish on, wham drum! That was on worms so the plan for tonight is to go back with live bait in store for some bigger fish:wink:. The river is around normal, maybe a tick high but its not hurting the fish any, also with all the flooding there are new tees and brush in the water which means more cover for the fish and more honey holes to fish for them.

Its in SE Kansas. Its what feeds Toronto Lake. Heads into Ok and turns into a big river. Good fishin all over it, if you can find a place to fish it.:sad2:

Lots of places to fish it, just have to do some walking to get to most of them. Some of them are secret little spots that not alot of people know about. Most of the Verdigris in the Toronto area is KDWP walk in hunting land and therefore is open to fishing as well.

Well, haven't fished it for a few days but the water level is dropping and word is that the fish have shut off, not even catching on lines right now. Last I checked the spillway it was shut in with only 1 low flow valve open 11 percent which is very little current.
GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN FISHIN' !!!:cool2:

Here in coffeyville the river has dropped quite a bit last few days. Been catching some channel on secret seven and cut shad in the riffles.

Well, the fish should be biting today, at least to the south of Toronto, they have two gates open half a foot now and the low flow valve at 11 percent so it should have come up some and be a little more swift. I'm gonna head out and try it a little later when it cools off.
GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN FISHIN'!!!:cool2:

Thanks Justin for the update on your area. I think that's why all the fish left here an went your direction!
