There are a few nice places to set up camp up river... The carp bite should be good up river too, so you don't need to go too far for bait.

    Good luck.

Thanks Andy, I have never been past Sheep Creek and to get where I want to go It's 7 miles. I still only use a trolling motor and this information I need so I dont waste alot of time. The plan is for a new boat but still not till next year. Its been delayed another year so I can play the market.

I've only been to Bartlett once and had motor problems that time, so I didn't go farther up from the boat ramp more tha a mile.
Is the area you're talking about accessable from the ramp, then boating up river that distance?
I usually go up Agua Fria river on Pleasant to escape speed boaters and find better fishing, but would like to give Bartlett another try.
My boat is 16', fiberglass with 80hp motor. With trolling motor can navigate pretty shallow water.
Thanks for any and all info and help.

I launch @ the boat ramp by yellow cliffs and then go up river 4-7 miles.
I at least go past both no wake zones to get away from most of the boaters.

Anthony, let us know how the trip turns out. I am thinking about heading farther up the river next time I head to Bartlett as well. Thanks.

I've pretty much decided to change my destination for tomorrow's overnight fishing trip fron Pleasant/Agua Fria River to Bartlett/Verde River. I would like to head upriver as far as the previous post (4 to 7 miles). Any further suggestions? We'll be leaving my house at @ 10:00A.M. tomorrow morning, fishing overnight , and leaving the lake @ 12:00 noon Friday. Thanks for your suggestions.

Let me know how you do. I'm headed up there Friday around noon and will be fishing back of the river over night.
