So you did make it down to Ocracoke?
    That place is heaven.
Must be neat to grow up, go to school, and work on an island that is 14 miles long and accesible only by boat or small plane that pretty much lands on the beach.

I hope you get that chance someday, Gary! Thank you so much for posting the pictures. It was wonderful seeing your family enjoying some of North Carolina's treasures. Aren't the lighthouses great? It's been a while since I've been to our coast, but there is definitely something special about it. Glad you got to experience Ocracoke. Mark is right, it's a little slice of heaven! :smile2:

MarkJ and Catgirl I loved Okracoke and Hatteras, we went with another family (Ill never do that again LOL). The weather was great I dont think it rained more than 10 min the whole time (at least during the day).

You know I couldnt figure out how they would warn ships when they are that way but hey Im not the designer  .

DRC the kids were digging some deep holes to bury themselves standing but not deep enough for me.

I visited and climbed the Hatterus lighthouse back in the late 60's. Never have gotten over the view. Awsome.

Glad you and family had a good time.
