I'm near Richmond , just moved down here this summer from upstate NY, have gone to the james near the locks caught alot of small ones and a few decent size blues and flats. Trying to find some other public spots in the Richmond area if anyone can help! I've been fishing for 30 + years but just started the addicting sport of fishing for Big Cats! Caught my first 30 incher and I was hooked lol
I live in King William Co, near Aylett. I've been exploring the Mattaponi River, both kayak and jon boat. I fish the James occasionally, for both cats and bass, upper and tidal reaches.
I live in Gretna just up the road from J_Carter. I fish Smith Mtn and Leesville Lakes for stripers, Smith Mtn and the Staunton River at Long Island for Flatheads and occasionally make a trip down to buggs for the blues.
Grew up in Lynchburg fishing for channel cats in the James. Moved to Richmond and discovered big Blue Cats in the Tidal James. Last Spring I moved to Gordonsville.
Sounds good everybody! Anybody caught any Hogs this year!? 62 is my biggest this year

I haven't caught any hogs but caught some decent fish.. Caught a 38# blue this summer on a 3 day float which would be my biggest blue to date. I thought flatheads put up a fight, but that blue I swore was a 50 lber when fighting it. lol
I'm originally from Haysi in Dickenson County, but grew up in Ferrum in Franklin County. Now I live in Norton. I fish from the Kentucky border to the upper James for pretty much all species.
I'm from south central Pa. and make it down to the James 2-3 times a year. I am starting to really like the Potomac also since it's a little closer and have caught some nice cats.
I'm in Alexandria, but mainly fish down on the Northern Neck, around Kilmarnock. A couple times a year I usually get out on my kayak in MD and WV for smallies. With the Potomac so close, I want to learn how to catch some monster cats.
Live down near Aquia and fish the Potomac, james, and quite a few others.
