I was just curious. I have tried to make chum bags on several occasions. I have caught fish but am not sure if the bag had anything to do with it. I fish alot in the hudson river and in lake champlain. Are chum bags even legal??? Never really thought about it. I really was just curious what the best thing to use is and how you set it up. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. River / lake

    THanks alot,

I'm not sure if it's legal in your state or not but here in Texas you can put out a chum bag. What I use is a burlap sack and fill it with soured milo. You can use soured wheat or whatever is available in your area. I put about 5gal in it and tie a rope to it and tie the rope to a tree where I'm going to be fishing. I do this the night before I fish the hole and it works great. Hope this helps.
