Woke up the other day and my 3 year olds beta fish was floating belly up. I decided to throw him in a plastic bag and take him with me to the local pond. I was curious as to if I would catch anything on it. I cut it in two and caught a nice little channel cat with it.

What a great way to honor the dead. I can only wish that I am cut up and distributed for bait when I pass on. I tried to get a piece of my amputated finger from my doctor back, I was planning on throwing it on a hook, but they wouldn't even consider it!

You should have demanded it back, it belonged to you anyway.

Tried to talk my wife into letting me use 1 of her live sucker fish ,the kind that keeps your tank clean . That was last summer and I'm happy to report that the pain and swelling is almost gone.

You must be using small hooks, to be able tocut a beta in half for bait. They only get to be about an 1 1/2" long, LOL!!! YOU DA MAN!!!!

Something just isnt right about that. But hey, You know when you buy a Beta that it wont last very long. That would turn into an expensive day on the river using those things. Good Luck!

    Mark,
Great use of a dead betta! Did you tell your kid that his fish went to live with a nice family in the country?
