Normally catfishing from September to the end of October is the best time on the Ohio River. The river is clear, stable and the temperature is mild. NOT this year for the month of September has been very hot with heat index in the high 90’s. Then when it was not hot the rains pushed the river to high levels that made boating on it unsafe. We just had another large rain event that went right up river so all that rain is messing things up for at least another week. As I see it maybe I will get to wet a line on the river around October 5th. I might get to a local lake with my grandson to get some fishing action for bluegills.
