I'm from Minnesota and we have good flathead populations in the Mississippi River up to Minneapolis, and in the St Croix River and the Minnesota River. Wisconsin has good flathead waters as does Michigan. The Minnesota state record flathead is 70 lbs. We obviously have a shorter season than our southern brothers due to the cold and ice but once the water warms in late April we are after them.

On the Eastcoast, the farthest us they are is up around Philly. They are in the Delaware Rver too, but I don't think up to far past Trento, NJ because of the dam.
