Ok I rarely fish rivers but I have been hearing a lot of talk about undercut banks and was wanting to know just what exactly is an undercut bank. Pictures would be very helpful if any one has any.

The undercut banks will occur on outside bends where current pushes into the bank and washes the dirt away.

It's just where water erodes a cavity in the bank of a river or stream. Great place for fish to hide. The outside bend usually has an undercut bank. Also where water washes away the bank beneath trees to expose their rootwad is good fishin'.
