I would go 7', Medium 15-30. Makes smaller fish (10-20lbs) still fun. Just bought another one last night as a matter of fact.

tiger rods are the best-abus are the best-I think the 7000 matches a little better with the tiger though.

Has anybody used a two piece tiger? I've seen them on the BP website in a Med. wt. I noticed that it had a lighter line and lure weight than the 1 piece Med.

Both of mine are two piece. No problems - love them both.

I have two Tiger rods one with a Tidewater L30 spooled with 80lbs Power Pro and one with a Daiwa Accudepth 17 with 30 lbs line. I can put stumps off the bottom with the Tidewater.

yea id agree with that the mh tiger is huge for the 6500 the 7' tiger lite or the 7' ugly stick catfish would match up better. the tiger lite would be a little more at home at the river because of the heaver action.

All of my cat rods are ugly sticks. I have 4 tidewater reels and 6 ABU. The Abu are= 2 6600 cl, 2 5600, 2 6000. All spooled with 20 and 30 pound test cajun red line. The best investment ever made.

I have quite a few tiger rods and if I was going to use a 6500 I think I would use the 2201 model for 20-50lb line. I have both models, 2201 and 2202 and I fish the Ohio river a lot but I use the 7000C3's mostly along with 2 BG9000's.

That is a good combo but like everybody said I would go with a tiger lite.
