Tuscarawas River 3/22

    Tried the Tusc for the first time for channels this year. Ended up catching a 9 lb 11 oz channel measuring 28 3/4 inches for the first 07 channel and a 3 lb 11 oz for the second one. We did not expect anything due to high water levels, so we had to cut our trip short. We did not take lights. Have a pic of the big one. It was taken at my house, but was released unharmed. I only live 40 yards or less from the river:wink:

    Rocky, thats a nice channel to start the year with. What did you catch it on?

    Caught the larger one on a shiner I caught while fishign for creek chubs and the smaller one on shad.

    Is it amazing liuving right by a river? I bet thats so awesome, i would love to know i could walk out bakc and fish. haha ;)

    How high is the river there? Downstream is jus plain nasty!

    It was high when I caught the fish, but it was within the banks.........than came the rain Friday, and now it is back out again. Bummed me out since they turned on like they did.......I even got some shad today. Now it will have to wait till the water recedes a little:crazy:
