It looks like you're going to be busy skinning turtles, they ought to make several meals. It takes me about 30 minutes each

Hey Tracker or Ty, I usually give the turtles to a friend of a friend when I get them. But I'd like to start cleaning them myself. I'v heard that you have to let them clean out in a tub of water for a week , change water every day, before you clean them. Any one hear of this and is it the best way?

I've soaked them for a week in fresh water and I've cleaned them right after I got them.(bow hunting) couldn't tell the difference one way or the other. Make sure to cut any of the yellow fat from the meat, that I think is where all the nasty flavor is. If you have never cleaned one, there is a tutorial from cats in the BOC diner. Good luck Ty
