Anybody got a good turtle trap plan? I'm thinking of building one of the box traps where they just crawl in the top and can't get back out. So, anybody ever trapped turtles, I want to remove some from a small pond.

There are tons of different turtle trap designs out there, most either resemble a hoop net or just a box with ramps up the side there they fall in. Some years back I built a box style one on floats with a trapdoor on the top held up with a spring on hinges, worked great. Wish I still had it. Caught everything from snapping turtles to pond sliders in it. I don't have any pics of it or else I'd post them.

a floating box trap with nails driven facing inwards seems to work pretty good around here
