There is a number of small lakes "large ponds" that are used through out the city to manage the flood control. If you pick up a copy of the OK fishing regulations (any wal-mart or sporting goods store) they are listed along with the type of fish that is stock, there is several that have been stocked with channel cats and make really nice places to fish, especially if you are taking family. I would suggest that you stay away from "Lake Yahola" if you are not familar with the area, it is NOT a safe place.

Have some fun, and report back as to where you fished and how you did.

Check out "Pretty Water Lake". It is a very nice park with good fishing. The fish are generally small, but there are lots of them. Great bankfishing all the way around the lake.

The 2 best spots to fish in Tulsa that will give you an opportunity to catch a trophy cat or striper is the low water dam at 31st and riverside. East bank or west bank, doesn't matter. There is a pedestrian bridge over the river and fishing piers on either side. Bring a cast net as there are usually tons of shad, and a way to get ur fish out of the water as the piers are about 10 ft. above the water. a bicycle rim with a net tied to it with a good section of rope works well. The other spot is a place called Cherry Creek. It runs into the Arkansas about 2 miles down from the pedestrian bridge. Access is gained from I-44 westbound. Exit on Elwood ave. From stop sign, turn right(east) go 1 block, turn left(north) and park at the bridge. good luck with ur visit and ur fishing........Gary
