Does anyone know where to find some good topo maps of the Missouri River? I just want to find some that show the bends in the river and the dykes...any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I've posted the URL here a few times - don't have the energy right now to dig it up, but a search of the forum should turn up my posts...

Damn! I just viewed some good ones in pdf format. They're pre 93 flood maps, but if you're just looking for bends and dykes it should do just fine. I'll see if I can't find it again.

OK...well that wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Here ya go.

    http://www.nwk.usace.army.mil/RiverCharts/RiverCharts.htm

Choose from 1 of 5 area links (I live in Jeff city so mines the first link)

The maps are interactive, so find the area you want to view and click on the little red rectangle on the map and it will zoom in on that area.

    Hope this helps.

Rumor has it that they are supposed to be updating those this year for the Missouri River.

I called the Kansas City district office just a few weeks ago to inquire about the updated Missouri River maps, originally slated to be released in 2006.

The new maps aren't ready and they don't know when they will be. It's a pretty low priority task for them, rendered even lower with all the recent flooding.

    So don't hold your breath.
