I spent the last two days fishing on Truman Lake and can report with certainty that the winter pattern is in full effect. I put just under 40 fish over the two days, biggest being 23 lbs. with the remainder being nice eater-size fish. I fished by myself today and had a hard time keeping all 6 rods in the water - the bite was pretty fast all day.

Look for huge congregations of bait fish in the old river channels where the bottom is about 45 to 50 ft and the blue cats will be hanging out below them. Use fresh cut shad for bait and if you're not getting bites in the first 10 or 15 minutes after setting up, you're in the wrong place.

Marty, was you drifting or anchor fishing? What was the surface water temp?

Water temp was about 45F. I was still-fishing and will be for the rest of the winter - drift fishing doesn't produce well in cold weather.
