I only use a trolling motor for my boat, typically how long do you guys think it will last before I will need a new one. I have been using mine for 4 years now and really dont want to be stuck several miles from the boat ramp when it goes out. Thanks

Four years? That's pretty good, I usually break mine in 1 to 2 years.

I have an old motor guide 25# that I bought in 1987. it still works fine. couldnt guess with the 2year old 75# on my pontoon it may quit much sooner. nothing gaurenteeing that another (newer) one would be more reliable. I had one go bad on me before but it was electrical problem. probably could have been fixed but I sold boat.

Mine was purchased by the original owner of my boat in 1992. It is still going strong.
