Trolling motors

    was out saturday getin bait for tourny in shallow water useing troller when my brother hung cast net in the prop it shut down the motor 1st thing we checked was fuses no problem there 2nd the wireing seemed ok 3rd the battery it was up ,but still no troller . heres the delima should i get the troller fixed or buy another ? is it fixable ? its a minkota tilt . and its on my 16' jon .any and all advice would be appreciated

    i foud out quick that your better off getting a new one. parts ar hard to get and $$$$. especially if its an older model. its a good excuse to upgrade!!:smile2:

    i agree i think a replacement is in order. nothing like a trolling motor failure to ruin a good day of fishing.:sad2:

    I would first take the top cover off and check the voltage.
    That will tell the story. No voltage and you probally have a fusible link more then likely at the battery. If you have voltage, it's going to be internal.
