I have a 14' (70" wide beam) lowe with a 2 stroke25hp she will have three batteries 2 livewells and no more than 2 people most of the time. I am in the process of building the boat and am about to purchase a foot controlled motorguide. I want to save battery life but also want ample power on the trolling motor. They sell a 46lb and a 54lb, which should I go with.

get as much as you can afford. you will thank yourself for it on those windy days. you can turn down the thrust and use just what you need to save battery power. it is cheaper to get more than you need, than to decide you dont have enough and have to buy another. i would go for at least 54 lbs. just my opinion. tight lines and bent rods to you.
