Trolling motor on a I/O Runabout

    I have a boat very similar to the one in this pic. Do you think a bow mounted trolling motor w/a 36" shaft will be long enough? I found one I can buy for $100.00. Thanks

    That's a very small picture, but my guess is NO. A 36" shaft is what you use on the smallest jon boats. I'd guess you're gonna need at least a 42" or a 52".

    In order to use one on my boat, I installed a "scissors" bracket on the transom. It is the mount you'll see on alot of sailboats, for their kicker motors.

    It will allow you to have about 10" of "drop", when you let it down to it's lowest point. I bought mine from Cabela's, they were much cheaper than West Marine.
