Got a question for you guys:

I have caugh my fair share of Stripers from the shore, but I plan on doing a little Trolling for them in the Ca. Delta soon, and I would to know from the members here that have troll for them:

"What is your favoite lures & colors for doing so"?

Hello Bert, I haven't got to troll for striper for many moons but we would use the larger rattle/shad and rapalas. The rattling shad seemed to go a little deeper so in the boils[if you find them] the larger striper would hit the lure instead of the little ones on the surface. Good Luck!

i have always cought mine in the lakes with live minnows , big goldfish work really well; i have also cought them on a old silver cigar shaped spinner bait that my dad used for years;; it has a spinner on both ends and i put 1/4 th ounce bullet weight about 8 inches in fromt of it and cast it through a school or trool about 7 m.p.h. and let lots of line out;; have cought several in the 38 to 40 lb range this way.......

Hyper Striper Umbrellas in white/chartreuse with a white tail, dip the trailing jig's tail in red worm dye...Killer for numbers on Lake Lanier...If that does'nt work, switch colors to white/blue /white or all white...Even single HS jigs trolled deep enough work great...

Wow, I've heard they like a fast retrieve, but 7 mph? Not doubting you, just surprised.

Here they will jump all over Lucky Craft Stacies in "tenn. shad color". Only draw back is they cost around $14 each. Lots of guys in this area troll big white gigs for them too. I'm not a striper fisherman per sey but have caught several while bass fishin with the stacies or pointers. My favorite way is a zara spook when their on top. Red fins are another bait that does well in my area and they are about 1/3 the cost of lucky craft baits.

I have used Norman crankbaits to troll before. We used the DD22 deep divers. They dive around 11-20 ft. Or the shallow running Normans. We used the Texas shad color and the black and chrome.
