Tree Farming With John Deere

    Now this is the way to be a lumberjack. They have come a long way since doing it with crosscut. :big_smile:

    We have in this area 2 big paper companies that own a lot of land and they will send in 2 or 3 of those big machines and clear cut several thousand achers in no time. They will replant with those fast growing pines and do it over again in a few years. They select harvist so that one area is never void of timber and they never cut closer then 200 feet from a roadway.
    I have seen about every kind of Deere they make in operation except the walker and I sure would like to operte one of those.
    We have to good size Johns we use on the farm and the older ones are far better then the ones you buy today, just not as fancey.
