Anyone know of any videos online of people trapping snappers?
Did you do a google search?
yeah I did i couldn't find anything at all.
I've never heard of a video on turtle trapping but you can build a turtle trap by using plywood at whatever size you want for a base and make a 2"x4" frame up on edge around it then place finishing nails spaced about 3" or so around the top inside edge of the frame then place some bait in the center. When turtles come onto the platform for the bait they can't get back off due to hooking there shell on the nails. I don't know of trapping them in the winter other then with conibears under the ice at beaver dens.
If you want to buy a turtle trapping, cleaning and cooking video here it is. This is what I have found so far.
Check this out also.
I have always heard a barrel in the water that sticks up high then a ramp. They will fall of the ramp into the water in the barrel then cant get out because the water in the barrel is to low for them to climb out.
i actually just ordered 2 books from there one how to make nets and traps and the other how to catch turtles. thanks everyone for the help!
How do you trap turtles
Hey man, there is a whole bunch of ways. One way is using set lines which is just a line tied up to a tree with a hook and bait on it. There are turtle traps on the net as well as plans. If you want to know some sites PM me and i will send you the stuff.
Where are you from in pa mike?

Don't know much about trapping but look at this picture of the big ol snapper I caught in Canada. He had been hanging around our house boat all week trying to get at our bait, and our fish!!! Remember this I am 260 lbs!!!
