I haven't trapped in years. My collection of traps was dismal.
Only three 1 1/2 coils. Five 220 conibears the rest were assorted longsprings most in barely useable condition.
    So what to do.
    Start making snares.
I made 40 to start with.
Most of the fur you will see was snared.
    I didn't take pictures of day 1
    here is day 2

    Day 3
The larger coon weighed 26 pounds and was graded a XXXL

Things slowed down some after that.
Here are some pix of coon caught in a egg trap. Its a dog proof trap that I have been experimenting with.

This one has both feet in the trap

So far 29 coons, too many possums, 3 ditch tigers(house cats) 3 rats.

My trap line is only 1 mile long.

I had a lot of knocked over snares. Like I said its been a while since I trapped so most of that was my own fault.
One conibear is missing and presumed stolen.

I think I have the coon population knocked down a little and believe I'll try mink and then Yotes. With gas prices a little better I'll probably extend the line.
Back in the old days I used to run about 60 miles a day.
Any way thought you guys might be interested.
    have a goodone

Nice Going Bob ... I know the feeling about the phrase ... "I used too" ... I used to run 150 traps now it is 45 and that is why I am up right now with terrible lower back pain ... But the Good Lord willing I will be back out there tomorrow checking them again ... Garry- :eek:oooh::eek:oooh:
