Transoms

    I've seen a few posts asking about what material to use to replace the transom and marine ply of course would be the best choice probably. However quarter sawn oak would be another good choice as its extremly stable and unbelievably strong. If you can't find the width then edge glue it (long grain to long grain), don't worry the wood will give before the glueline will. With proper water protection on it it will last forever. Just thought I'd add my 2 cents
