Anyone know a site I can download good Indiana lake/reservoir topo maps?
get one of those indiana lake books from walmart or gander mountain. i have one i would give you but every now and again i fish a lake.
Don't know where you can download them. But if
you did'nt already know... The DNR office
downtown Indpls offers a lot of topographical
maps. They claim to have hundreds of them.
Covers lake depths as well. It's a government
building with metal detectors at the entrance
so leave your pistol in the bushes out front before you go in. LOL!
I was going to suggest that map book at walmart also. I think they have two versions, a northern and southern. They seem pretty detailed.
Thanks guys, I'm Wallmart bound then.....
Try to Google it. You can probably find one that way.
I did... found some topo's... just not very good ones.
drpepper, a few years back i bought a very good topo from the dnr. Here is a link to several river topo maps that can be downloaded and an address that you might want to contact. They sent me a small catalog with maps they had available. Think they were only $4.00 each. They had quite a few. http://www.in.gov/dnr/water/7166.htm
If this does not work just google "indiana dnr dept. of water" and look around.
I take that back, guess the river maps are purchase. Well worth a shot.
Hey Dr. P!
Check out this site: http://www.digital-topo-maps.com/ . I looked at the map they had for Eagle Creek reservoir and it looked good. The Sportmans book from Wally world is a must though.
Now thats a cool site... thanks! I'd like to get one of those high res. 3D topo's they show... I'm not sure you can get those for lakes though, I'm gonna look and see.
Bill, check out this site. I accidentally found it while looking for info on Wagon Wheel Lake.
