took pics of the locks in nola, open 1st time in 11yrs!!!

    heres some pics of the lock open in the spillway in laplace,la about 15 min from new orleans. the pic that has no bars is a pic of a gator...the gators are everywhere...the sound of that water roaring is too much for them and they have been comin in groves. also beavers. the amount of fish coming through the locks is staggering...millions and millions...100lb pluse buffalofish, stripers, cats, carp,sardines,sacailait, perch, bass,huge white and red crawfish, pogies. me and my son threw the cast net a few dozen times and caught a load of pogies, crawfish, river shrimp, 2.5lb bass<---threw him back, perch. we went to catch some bait to put on my turtle pole lines and needless to say wont need any for a while!

    Man!!! try some snaggin for those buffs!! get some 3oz. bank sinkers, 5-12/0 trebles, a stiff pole, heavy line, and go at it!!! I know I'd be snaggin all day over there for carp/buffalo!!

    Brings back old memories. I was a tankerman on a towboat for several years. I spent alot of time in your country, intercoastal and such.thanks
