Well, my wife and i took our 6 yr. old grandaughter catfishing on moultrie saturday and had a BLAST! didn't catch alot of fish but did manage to get 4 channels about 6lb. each. i held the butt end of the rod so she could feel the fish pulling and she reeled in all 4. the look she had in her eyes was priceless. she was so tickled to catch some big fish (for her anyway). plan on taking her again real soon. also credit goes to my wife for handling the dipnetting. she did a fine job her 1st time at it. any time you get a chance to take a kid fishing do it. they will remember it for ever.

    GARY:big_smile:

    Travelers Rest,
Iceman, guys like you should be envied. There are so many parents/grandparents that have to work all the time nowadays, they either don't have the time or don't want to take the time. I'm sure you consider yourself to be VERY blessed, Gary. Keep laying the stepping stones, man.... One day, she'll look back and say, "I remember that my granddaddy used to take me fishing." I know I do....Fond memories.

Great stuff Gary. Best sight in the world to see a kids face light up when they catch a fish. Priceless:smile2::smile2::smile2:
