New: Anthony Earl Spergin Jan. 14, 1947-June 15, 2008 June 16, 2008 · According to his wishes, there will be no services observed for Anthony Earl Spergin, 61, of Newark, who died June 15, 2008, at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 14, 1947, in Congo, to the late Anthony Spergin and Eva June (Spears) Spergin. Mr. Spergin was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having held the rank of Sergeant. He served for seven years during Vietnam and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Mr. Spergin was an avid fisherman and passed away unexpectedly during a fishing trip at SaltLake in CoshoctonCounty. He enjoyed the outdoors and working with computers and electronics. He was self-employed as a professional painter and was of Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Eva Marie (Marx) Spergin; daughters, Lori Ann, Angela and Eva; sons, D.J., Tony and Daryl; numerous grandchildren; sisters, Patricia (Bob) Goings, Monique (T.D.) Sullivan and Wava (Mike) Laughery; stepdaughters, Diana (Bill) Caplinger and Kristy Romine; nieces, nephews and many friends. His family and friends will miss him very much. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Anthony Earl; and many close friends. Henderson-Van Atta Funeral & Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
