I'll be out there fishing up on the Illinois River or possibly just down from the Dardenne Slough. Might launch at Columbia bottoms - not sure?:confused2:

My husband is as excited as a kid at Christmas. As much as we have fished, you would think this is his first time to be on the water. Patrick, I just can't bring myself to say Poopdeck, that is scary, (cause I know if you christen our boat who will have to clean it up) I think we are ready. .. my man has bought just about everything that has been recommended...and they say that women spend money.. I certainly appreciate your efforts to show us the river. As a bare foot kid, I grew up along the banks of the Red River and may even still have some of the mud between my toes, but I am leery of the Mighty Mississippi. Makes me feel good that we have a pro on the river with us, especially at night. Looking forward to the evening. I want to catch the big one!

I am not a pro and there are a lot of people in here that have more experience fishing from a boat on the miss than me. However, I do try to be safe and use common sense. You will be fine, just wear your life jacket, but you will not need it. I do know a few real good flathead holes. I just hope they are biting. Don/t worry about your boat I will take a big sh*t before i leave:big_smile:

What a nice man! Looking forward to meeting you and catching some fish. I have promised my husband that I will be on my best behavior tonight. But, I must warn you, usually whatever comes into my head, comes out my mouth. You would think as old as I am that I would have learned to curb it....but oh well..someday maybe.

I would have to agree with you on this one. In my mind, to even be considered a pro (or competent), you would have to weigh at least one fish in when participating in a tourney.

Olejer has weighed in just as many fish as you and I combined. My motor broke and my partner sucked, that's my excuse.
