Tips for growing onions

    does anyone grow onions? i have a problem with mine they get large but than they divide like garlic is there something i can do next year to prevent this from happening?

    What type onions are you planting? I've had no problems with grano types planted 6" apart, just put 120 sets and 50 slips in the ground last week. The multipliers do bunch up but are picked when small.

    shoot Idont recall I think there supposed to be sweet burmuda anyways I bought the sets at wally world and planted them in about late april or early may they were lookin so good till about three weeks ago and the tops on some were getting yellow and falling so i thought time to pick a few and I noticed that quite a few were dividing

    One bag of my sets also came from Wally World, they were Vidalia types and ok. hopefully someone else can shed some light on them.

    i was thinking maybe ths weather was so hot or maybe i watered them too much/not enough or something like that
