When traveling with your boat and your staying at a hotel, put a baby monitor in it.. Help you hear whats going on in your boat while in your room.. May save ya some headaches in the morning :)

    Great Tip, Brother!!!
I would also like to add, that every 100 miles or so, that you stop and check the heat on your bearings. Using the back of you hand (not the fingers cause you might burn them and it would make for a painfull fishing trip) check for heat iminating from the hubs. If they are abnormally hot, stop and get new bearings before you are stuck on the side of the road and have to unhook it and leave it to get bearings later.

one of the beat investments You can make is a good boat cover. It keeps stuff from blowing out on those long trips and also hides Your expensive gear inside from view. A thief might skip Your boat if it covered up not wanting to take the extra effort to remove the cover to get to your stuff and they don't know whats under there.
