Ok so the past few days ive been fishing the cats have been biting extremely lightly. normally they take the bait and run even if they are smaller cats, but lately i have to pick up my pole and feel for a bite and pray when i set the hook that i get them. Does anybody know whats going on?

I have had the same problem lately. Seems like the cats are just being finicky, small or not. I have had to let them play with it a long time and then try to set the hook a little when I see the rod bend enough that I think I can set the hook. People confuse this with gar bites alot, but I think it's cats being finicky alot of times, because the bait will still be there. With a gar, the bait would be gone or shredded. Try using smaller pieces of bait or maybe smaller hooks so they can get it in their mouths easier. Good Luck...Hope this helps.
