we had decent action last night....just one of those nights where we couldn't hook up
A lot of channel cat action last night.
Tony and I forgoed the dam since it just would not have been safe. From shore the creek mouth blows out when it rains hard and it isn't just water that blows out of tgat tunnel, but whole trees.
Once saw a 40ft telephone pole come down that tunnel. It I had stayed were I was it would have killed me as it was just getting tossed and flipped like a tooth pick.
Yep, never underestimate the power of water. Didn't you lose a rod like that?
Yeah, and when I got swept into the river trying to get it back almost lost my life.
You can't swim against those kind of currents.
Yea, just look at all the recent drownings in SW PA this year. Just had another one out my way
Boats getting fixed but at least got in to some cats last night at my cabin. Nice channels, 5 of em between 19-26”
Caught 1 flat and 1channel pool 3 last night more turtles than fish using gills
Welcome to the forum and nice pics.
I need you to add your FIRST name to your profile page were it ie required.
Welcome to the site!
We had a nice, but practically fishless, outting last night. Caught tons of bait, just no big flatheads.
The riots going on in Pittsburgh sort of cut things short for us, my wife was freaking out about me needing to come home and with copters circling over head I figured it is probably time to just head home.
I was gonna ask how anyone made out last night if they were fishing down there.
Think im going to try to hit the river around ford city with the boat next Saturday night. Hopefully the weather is decent. Going to take some trout and chubs for bait. Maybe some blue gills if I can catch them
Yea that was a weird night brother... As a fully grown man I was starting to get weirded out by the constant helicopters, especially the one circling us and lit us up once with the spotlight. 412 cat could've been the hero but... yea you were there
Gotta hook em before you can lose them
Tyrant, thank you for the invite. I apologize for only getting back to you now. I was at my cabin all weekend so i spend little time on my phone. I'll have to take you up on your invite to fish from the bank here in the next couple weeks. It's looking like it will take at least that long to get the boat going as it will have to go back to the manufacturer to be repaired.
Was out catching bait this a.m. Caught some nice big perch, jumbo bluegills, and a mooneye. Also caught 3 decent walleye, a few smallmouth bass, and 2 channel cats.
Highlight though, was when I had on about a 11 or 12 inch smallmouth and had a very nice musky (appeared to be around 45") slowly, lazily following in the bass. Having 4 lb test on my light rod, Im not at all disappointed he didnt take. lol.
Did you fish Dunkard back in its musky glory days?
Hey, you know where he's at, go back with some heavier equipment and a big hook in that bass's back!
