we see that all the time, once one of the guys was in a wheel chair, and there is many that just live on the river in small boats.

Have to say, it seems like an awful waste of good fishing time to be on the river and just paddling and looking around.

Whatever floats your kayak I suppose...W

Sounds like an adventure, but I'd prefer in the spring, winter is a bit cold. Will be nice when he gets farther South, but he must be cold last couple days. He will have to wait in the spring for ice out anyway. Shoulda started earlier.

I have always wanted to ride a bicycle from CA to Midwest, and canoe down the Mississippi to the Gulf. Oughta be fun fishing and camping on the way down, but its a lot of paddling once the river is done. Gotta be alert for dams and river traffic too. But sure seems like a fun time.

Thanks for the post, Mike. It's interesting how modern technology can enable the "bloggers" to keep folks updated even in the most remote locations.

I found this father-son journey interesting: http://www.fish5050.com/-- "Fish 50 States in 50 Days". This pair live in my area and attend church within sight of where I work. They had a blast and, yes, they included catfish in their targeted fish list!
