What:waaaht: ! That guy missed out on a lot of money but fed his family. I bet when he found out he was "sick" :beat_shot: . Sounds like some of my luck

Cheryl Im a big pike enthusiast and a 70 inch 50+lb pike is rare at best. I hope he does it again with the knowledge that he has now. But a fish like that is a once in a lifetime fish. Good luck to him though.

I agree chuck, a record doesn't feed the family-a 70 inch pike does pretty nicely

Thats a huge pike that would have definately been on my wall. Had to be fun reeling in that monster.

Don't know about the money thing but a friend of mine many years back caught the pacific ocean record wahoo. I asked him if he had it mounted and he said no it's cut up in steaks in my freezer. He then went on to explain that they have all the measurements and he could have one made anytime and that they don't need the actual fish. You also should have a picture he said as he pulled out of his back pocket one of many copies I'm sure he had of field and stream with his picture in it. The beauty of it all is if we choose catch and release we can always have a mount made later, for me I'll pull out the picture.
