thermocline?

    does the water for a thermocline in fast moving water like the mississippi

    Don't think moving water would have. Could be wrong but thermocline is usually found in ponds and lakes.

    i didnt think it would either until last summer. i fish a small/medium river that flows pretty good and it stratified in water 15ft or deeper in the slower flowing holes. if it was over 15ft, and you fished on bottom, your live-baits would be dead in about 30min.

    I think the River's can have a thermocline but most of all it's in Lakes and Ponds as stated above. I know in a lake it makes a huge difference to suspend your baits sometimes because of that reason.
