A 3-year-old Great Dane in Sacramento, Calif., has been named the world's tallest dog by Guinness Book of World Records.

The award-winning dog, named Gibson, stands 7 feet tall when upright, according to the report.

I'm surprised it wasn't taller than that. 7ft seems kinda small.

Man...I would hate to have the dog food bill for that pet.

I think the owner knows barry bonds and had the dog shot up with roids! lol

  8. One would hope. It was reported on this evenings news that three great danes in N.Alabama attacked a grandmother and her grandchild. Animal control had to kill one of the dogs.

We raised a female Great Dane with a small grown male Chihuahua. He lived in terror of being trampled by her.And rightly so,as she often did.I once took the few eggs out from under a tiny Bantam hen and put a hatching Toulouse (largest breed) goose egg under her.She successfully raised it,but was never the same. The little hen faithfully brooded her child by sitting in the middle of its back at night. She would go stark raving crazy when it would go swimming in the pond,or would not eat the juicy worm she had found for it.I would loved to have tried it when I had Emus. I found the great Dane to be heart breaking,as most have such a short life span. Some how it does not seem right for chickens to out live dogs.I still miss "Tiny".Thanks,I enjoyed the thread and the memories it brought back.

The must have to use a backhoe to clean up after that big boy. Imagine the canine eating cultures when they see him
