When talking to someone about our website should I simply say the individual letters, B O C? Or should it be refereed to as "The Bock?

Stupid question I know, but I stress over stuff like this. LOL

    Thanks!

I always say The BOC and then I give them a explanation of what it is and what we do. As long as they know what we stand for and if they enjoy fishing as much as we do I always welcome them to check out the site.

In my humble opinion, this site should ALWAYS be referred to as the "B.O.C."
The "bock", as I've heard it referred to, has no connotation to the Brotherhood Of Catfishermen, the greatest catfishing site on the Web.
If someone asks what the "B.O.C." is, by all means explain it to them and invite them to join up posthaste.
I say this as a proud member of the "B.O.C." AND as a proud member of the Staff.

I was telling my friend about this site once, and he got confused. He asked, " Why do you go to a Blue Oyster Cult forum?"

I always sound it out. BOC. then tell them B.O.C. and explain what it strands for. There isn't a right way or a wrong way to say it. At least I've never seen it posted.

I call it the Brotherhood when I refer to it.

    They ask, "Brotherhood?"

"Yeah", I say, "The Brotherhood of Catfisherman my brotha, you should check it out sometime.. It's way cool."

    "Really, online?"

"Sure igmo, just check out catfish1.com and you'll never search anyother cat site again. Lots of great tips & tricks and if you got a question about sumthin, you'll get bunches of answers all across the chart and it's amazing how quick too."

"Wow, sounds cool, does it cost you anything?"

"No, I donated to them cause I really dig the site and felt like I was a part of a big 'ole family almost immediatley after joining up. In fact I'll be sporting a new Hat you'll be jealous of soon. Check it out when you get home, you'll see...."

And there you have it. My version of a new member persuasion... Im a fixture here for sure... Thanks to all the B.O.C.

    :D

Early on I referred to it by sounding it out amongst members, and quickly learned that it was pronounced by letter. That was probably due to my experience with another similar acronym TOC which is sounded out. Of course, it doesn't have the periods, so...:)

Glad I'm not the only person that thought about that. It crossed my mind when I first found the B.O.C.- BROTHERHOOD OF CATFISHERMEN that is.

I normally refer to us as catfish1 dot com to folks who might not know about us. That way they know how to find us. I just call us the Brotherhood to family and friends I've already explained it to.
