First, let's agree on the time & date.
Shall we go for Friday the 18th, so we have "recovery" time for me and Sparky before Monday comes?
(who can get Friday afternoon off? Anybody?)
Shall we go for Saturday the 19th so we can start earlier in the day?
Are there brothers who would rather it was a different weekend?

Nows the time to stand up and be counted. Let's hear from you.

august 18 or 19 so far seems alright... of course I havent spoken to my wife-calendar. ROTFL

I cant get out too early, but if its closer to me than last gathering it wont matter as much. Where are we doing this? Is this the maple trip you spoke to me about?

hmm.... :doubt: Need more info... need to talk to the lil lady....

If you guys are planning a maple trip, Ill gladly take a few (2 seems comfy) on Ranbow Lake, then we can rejoin the group later on or whatever.

There is just so much going on guys.... my brain is shot. :beat_brick:

Don't change plans I my accord. I'm back to work this week, so my fishing is most likely over. Besides come September, if I'm not in the field, I'll be in the woods. Believe me, I'll be thinking of you guys, and I'll keep in touch.

    OK,
It's time to fish or cut bait!
Who wants to go fishing Saturday, August 19, from 4PM or so until whenever?
We're talking mid-state, north of Lansing, from the bank, on public land.
If there's enough interest, we'll go ahead with the planning.
So far we've got just 3 or 4 people on board (Don, Jon, Tony, Sal...)
Let's hear from you regulars and you new guys, what do you say?

    Dave-

Its about 405.41 miles, or 6 hours 49 minutes, without stops.
I know that's not good news for you, but its the most central location that has good bank fishing for the majority of the gang.
There's a campground nearby, let me know if you want the info.

    Mike-
For you, about 233.91 miles, 3 hours 54 minutes.
More specifically, Clinton County, MI, but we don't have it EXACTLY pinpointed yet.
If we go ahead with this, you're welcome of course.

    Jim,
    Sweet!
Then when I go to St Joe to visit my inlaws (grrrrrrr...) I'll have someone to call & fish with. We'll miss you the 19th. Good luck.

Just a reminder, this trip is barely 2 weeks away, and we still have room for several more participants.
We're looking at a spot on public land in Clinton County, on the Maple River, the source of the current Michigan flathead record (OK, it was back in 1943, but that's OK). There are some nice channels there, too.
We should be able to drive right up to the fishing spot, so bring your lawn chairs, coolers, bug spray, fishing gear, and anything else you want.
    The site is....
    2:00 from Detroit
    1:40 from Holland
    2:30 from St Joseph
    1:34 from Big Rapids
    1:14 from Saginaw
    3:07 from Mackinaw City
    and
    26:18 from Brownsville Texas.

So who's going to join me, Sal, Jon, & Don?

Sorry, Dave, didn't think computers made it to the U.P. yet! LOL...

Menominee to site: 405.4 miles, 6 hrs 49 min without stops.

Now you have to come, you can call it an early winter vacation to the south!
