Sat. my buddy Bruce and I hit Monty for the first time since fall. We ended with 23 cats from 2 to 5 lbs. We fished for big cats in prime areas, but nothing more than 5 lbs. would bite. We were discussing that Monty could be in full spawn given the water temps and time of year when we noticed what looked like a true monster thrashing on the surface. As we reeled up and headed to it, we noticed at 15 yards it was 2 trophy blues in battle for spawning grounds. Both were in the 20 to 30 lb. class range and were latched on to one another. All I can say is what a sight as they thrashed and splashed! Sorry there's no pic as I had a cam, but I was so amazed at their UFC battle I didn't think about taking a picture until it was over.

That does sound like quite the battle. Too bad you didn't get it on film. I guess we know they are in full spawn now
