I think the Trojans will win the Rose Bowl if they are fired up and ready to play, but will USC be fired up for the game? I'm sure they would rather be playing in the national title game. Also, Penn St. did put a pretty good beat down on the only team to beat the USC. I'd have to pick the Trojans, but I think it'll be closer than most people think.

USC's offense is average, and penn st.'s defense is very good, so I like the Lions chances. Should be a good game, Penn st. 24 USC 21.

USC is the closest thing to a pro team in college football. They say the PAC 10 was weak this year, so USC's stats don't mean very much. Well, I kina feel the BIG 10 could use a whole prescription of viagra, so Penn State accomplishments just don't register that much. I look for USC to apply some birth control on the BIG 10 in this game. LOL

Pro teams don't lose to Oregon State.

I think PSU blew them out in Oregon?

    WE ARE PENN STATE!

I think somewhere along the line, every pro team has lost at least once to every pro team in the league. And, although I am not a USC fan, I can see them losing to Oregon and still tearing up anything the BIG 10 has to send to the Rose Bowl. Don't let your regional bias make you look at the game in any way other than what it will be.
Penn State does not have any scalps hanging on their belts this year.

Although I'm a PENN STATE fan and hope the Lions can pull on out, but they have a humungus mountain to climb.

    May the best team win!

Joe Paterno's teams are pretty good in bowl games, They're capable of winning this game.

Conferences matter! If USC was in a conference that had better competition than just OS, they are good, they would be playing in the national title game. USC is defintely one of the best teams year to year but they are held back by their conference. Maybe they should play some better teams in their out of conference schedule?

Utah needs to join the PAC 10 along with either Nevada or Boise St., then Notre Dame needs to join the Big 10 so both those conferences can have a title game and see how hard it is to go 12-1 or 13-0 with the possibility of an upset in the title game. At 11-1, one conference loss for each, both USC and Penn St. can appreciate how difficult it is to make it through 8 conference games plus a title game too.

USC has been scheduling some very decent opponents in its out of conference schedule. They just can't do much with the weak teams in the conference. If there were just one or two schools that would rank high when they played USC, they would be just fine. I don't particulary like them, but can say I admire their studs.
