The picture thing is a tough one. It seems every time I hold a fish, it looks small. That I know.
I am attaching four pics that baffle me (3 of them from a couple of weeks ago). Perhaps I'm out of practice, but I was surprised.
I think you fellas already know the weight of one of them, but can you guess the weight of the others? No big dogs here, so it's going to be a little tougher.
You folks are off more than I thought. Both over/under. It was the same digital scale that weighed them all, so the measurement device is consistent.
I have input from a few other guys that didn't go public. They were just as bad. Please post 'em fellas.
As for the flatty, the weight didn't throw me off as much as the fight. I was absolutely disgusted when I first saw him. I was expecting a "stitch-type" fish. We have video of the fight and it's just embarrassing.
Let's go until 4 or so. I want to make sure everyone gets their input. It's time to put the best "fish eyes" to the test. I do a pretty good job in person when they are laying in the boat, then when we get the pics up, I'm like what the %&*%?
FYI. I've had people overestimate by as much as 35 lbs and under estimate by as much as 20lbs in today's responses. Of the 5 pics, there are 2 cases where 2 fish are within 1 pound of each other -- believe it or not.
I think the missing variable is sometimes the quality of the "gut shot". Take pic #2 for example. Right after that fish, I caught one that was 2 inches longer, but it weighed 5 lbs less. Typical....I catch the scrawny ones.
The flatty's are in a whole different league. I have no idea how I would guess the weight.
Is it me,or do the fish seem larger than they are this year?Twice,I've thought I made it off the skunk list, only to have my scale tell me they were 13 and 15.They just don't look right.
Welcome to my world, Dredge. I find it is much better to simply let the fish get off before photo's or witnesses can see. That way, they can be any size I choose. I find I am a much better fisherman this way as the fish consistently get bigger & bigger.
Better to post no pic's and have folks think I am not catching fish, than post photo's that show just how small of fish I really am catching.
I'ma stayin outa this one
They all look bigger than my pb 15Lbs
